Kristyn Got Me.

The Game of Tag about your MAN:

1. Who is your man? Caleb Seth

2. How long have you been together? almost 5 years married, 8 years total

3. How long dated? 2 years

4. How old is your man? 30

5. Who eats more? Depends. Probably him most of the time...but he is not a breakfast eater.

6. Who said "I love you" first? He did.

7. Who is taller? Caleb, by 3 inches...though he hides it when he slouches.

8. Who sings better? Obviously NOT me:)

9. Who is smarter? I think I made better grades...but he is sharper, quicker, and has a good grasp of almost any subject and more understanding. One of my favorite things about him is his knowledge of world culture, religion, politics, and history. We connected on this right away when we first met because we are CNN junkies. He is a debater and a devil's advocate but is able to argue both sides. Caleb always brags on me and says I am "wicked smart" but he's got this one.

10. Whose temper is worse? Definitely me...unless our car gets towed...then look out for Caleb.

11. Who does the laundry? I do...Caleb only does it when he wants to wear a particular T-shirt...then he will forget about the rest of the clothes in the dryer.

12. Who takes out the garbage? Caleb.

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Looking at the bed...I am on the right...this started at our old apartment because it was closer to the bathroom and carried it on to our house (although now it is further from the a bathroom).

14. Who pays the bills? Caleb.

15. Who is better with the computer? Caleb is a million times better than me. He taught me all I know.

16. Who mows the lawn? Caleb does the back...and we got a crazy cheap deal for the front through our HOA.

17. Who cooks dinner? Typically Caleb does...but after almost 5 years I am coming out of my shell and learning to cook. Caleb makes my lunch everyday for work:)

18. Who drives when you are together? Caleb...always. He is the safest driver I know and hates to be the passenger.

19. Who pays when you go out? Now that we are on cash only system for food and entertainment...we both do...depending on who has more $ in their envelope.

20. Who is most stubborn? Definitely me.

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I think it's him...Caleb thinks it's me.

22. Whose parents do you see the most? This is tough. Caleb's parents live 15 minutes away and mine are 30 minutes. We travel more with my family...but can go over to his parents' easily for dinner. I think it's a tie.

23. Who kissed who first? Hmm...we both did.

24. Who asked who out? He did.

25. Who proposed? Caleb.

26. Who is more sensitive? Easy- me.

27. Who has more friends? Probably me...between all of the circles I run in for work and graduate school...Caleb is firm on what C.S. Lewis said, "You can only have 5 friends."

28. Who has more siblings? Caleb...2 brothers and a twin sister.

29. Who wears the pants in the family? I hate this question...it so goes against my nature. But, Caleb is the head of our home no doubt and has so much wisdom... but I have a more dominating, loud personality...he does a good job of allowing me to use my gifts and toning me down when I need it. He lets me always speaks my mind always and have great dialogue when we need to make decisions for our family. He's the man though...so there you go.

Diana...I want you to do this:)

Help my Hubby.

Below is a support letter that Caleb wrote...the first support letter he has ever written...you can't understand how huge this is for him to ask for your support. So here are his words...please let us know if you want to get involved.

Hello friends,

I need your help!  No...no....don't stop reading!  Not yet anyway. :)

I am going to be playing in a Mission Discovery Golf tournament in
Nashville on October 9th.  The goal of the tournament is to raise
$65,000 for Mission Discovery.  And every team member needs to raise
$1,200 to play, and that is where you can help!  You see...since I'm
going to be playing...I need to personally raise $1,200.  Well,
obviously, I felt really guilty when I was about to write a check in
the full amount....I thought..."No Caleb....you should let others help
pay for this.....don't rob them of their blessing!". ;)

If you don't know anything about Mission Discovery, they are the
organization that I have been working with for the past 10 years.  It
is a non-denominational Christ centered mission organization that
helps faciliate the construction of houses for the poor all around the
world.  And as a non-profit organization, they completely operate on
the generous donations of people like you!

Every summer since 1997, I've disappeared for about 1-2 months in the
Summer time to go down to Mexico and help lead worship for the groups
that are building houses during the weeks.  I've personally witnessed
the construction of over 500 homes, and I cannot express to you the
joy at the end of the week when the groups dedicate the homes and
offer them as gifts for the families, all in the name of Christ.  To
remind people who have been forgotten by the world, that the living
God is aware of their needs and loves them, is a true blessing for
Aina and myself.

And I cannot think of a group of people with more integrity and
humility than the leadership at Mission Discovery.  I have learned so
much from all of them.

So....here is the pitch. I hate asking for money.  It pains me so
terribly.  I'm not sure what it is inside of me that finds it so
abrasive...but I'm going to do it anyway.  Asking one of my dear
friends on how I should approach it....I was told I should ask in the
following way:

How much money do you have?  And can I have all of it?

So can I?

If you get the feeling that you would like to donate some money to
this worthy cause....I would love for you to as well!

All you need to do is just e-mail me back...and let me know how much
you would like to give (And your physical address if I don't already
have it).  Then following the tournament, you'll receive an invoice in
the mail from Mission Discovery, where you can pay by cash, check, or
credit card.  And all donations ARE TAX DEDUCTABLE.

You can donate on a per hole basis too if you wanted!  Maybe $1 per
hole....or $5 per hole. I guess there is always a chance I won't make
it throught the entire 18 holes.  I am prone to injuring myself.  Make
it fun! :)

And as you are writing your check....you can think of me on the 12th
hole quitely setting up for my approach shot onto the green, and then
quickly shanking it into tree killing a small bird.  A dove maybe.
Peace.

Thanks,
Caleb Carruth

Warning.

Warning...this verse has absolutely changed my life and may do the same in yours.

Do not withhold good from those who deserve it,
when it is in your power to act. Proverbs 3:27

This verse challenges me beyond what I can explain...I suppose that is why God wrote it and purposed us to be doers of His good. This one way how people see the goodness of God... through the care and kindness of his followers...and what blows me away is that there is so much that is in my power to give...not just tangibly, but emotionally and spiritually.

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

So...my hope for me and you is that we wouldn't stress trying to figure out exactly what we are supposed to do...but know that He already has our good works planned...our job is simply to open our eyes and say okay to His direction.

Weekend of fun.

So I am a week behind with work and school starting up. Here's the evidence from our weekend of fun last weekend. We finally caught up with Scott, Diana, and Ella and had so much fun! Caleb was the official photographer so there are no pics of him...so I included a pic of our marriage mascot.
